Newfoundland 2

The first portion of this gallery contains images of locations in Elliston followed by images created in the historic town of Bonavista and other a few other locations. Elliston is known as the "Root Cellar Capitol of the World" with over 130 root cellars (many still in use for storing root vegetables), and for it's puffin viewing site. It's an incorporated fishing settlement and is part of the Discovery UNESCO Global Geopark due to it's geographical significance. This gallery contains some images of puffins but the main gallery to view puffin images is the Seabirds gallery under the Nature menu.  Bonavista is known for being a major fishing village, a popular tourist destination, whale watching, iceberg viewing and for it's rugged shoreline. It has also been considered to be the location that  John Cabot first landed in North America.  Images of Bonavista to be added soon.
