This gallery contains images of Blue Rocks followed by images of Stonehurst, The Ovens Natural Park and Mahone Bay. Blue Rocks has primarily been a fishing village for many years and is often visited by photographers and other artists and is also one of the best kayaking places in the area. Blue Rocks is located about a 10 minute drive from Lunenburg. Stonehurst is located about a 5 minute drive northeast of Blue Rocks and is also mostly known as a fishing community. Stonehurst will always be a special place to me because my mother was born and raised there and our family visited there many times over the years, nice memories. The Ovens Natural Park is about a 30 minute drive from Lunenburg. The park has beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, hiking trails along the cliffs, sea caves or "ovens", a restaurant and a camping area. Mahone Bay is about a 15 minute drive from Lunenburg. The town is known for the view across the Mahone Harbour of three prominent churches: St. James Anglican; St. John's Evangelical Lutheran; and Trinity United. This picturesque town is a popular tourist destination with upscale shops and restaurants. Hover over image for file number and description, click on image to enlarge.
