About Garry
My passion for photography provided the motivation to photograph a wide range of subjects for over 30 years and I'm looking forward to more exploring, admiring and creating. I photograph at locations close to home in the Toronto area and also at distant locations. I hope to photograph many locations across Canada, some locations in the USA, Europe, Caribbean and more. I hope sharing my images on this site will help others to achieve a greater appreciation of nature, structures, locations and much more.
I was born in Toronto and have always resided in the area and over several years I’ve observed this area grow and develop into the thriving area it is today. Prior to retirement I was employed full-time for over thirty-three consecutive years creating photos and a wide variety of graphic and visual products for city planning and urban design projects and occasionally on weekends I provided wedding and portrait photography services for many years.
My photography has been exhibited at the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery on three occasions, Montgomery's Inn Community Room Gallery on two occasions, Mississauga Living Arts Centre Gallery, Areej Artists Centre and Peel County Restaurant Gallery. I look forward to exhibiting prints of my images at more galleries.
Images I’ve created have been published in City of Etobicoke Annual Reports, Business and Finance magazine, City of Etobicoke Business Directory, Financial Times of Canada newspaper, Canadian Architect, Skydome calendar, a book titled "Like No Other in The World: The Story of Toronto's SkyDome", a Bid Book for the Toronto Ontario Olympic Council and a minicard for the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (Minicards Canada).

I completed several photography courses from the Humber College Continuing Education program and over several years I've attended many photography seminars and workshops. I'm grateful for the friendships made and for what I've learned to improve my photography at Etobicoke Camera Club and Mississauga Camera Club meetings over several years. I'm also grateful for receiving several awards (ribbons and trophies) from camera club photography competitions in various genres of photography.
I enjoy music very much and for entertainment purposes create audio-visual shows containing a variety of my images. My audio-visual shows have been presented at private functions and camera club meetings. In addition to photography and music I'm also interested in and appreciate architecture, art, design, film and sports.
Photos are what I create with a camera, images are what I produce after I refine and improve the photos using Photoshop and other software. Technology keeps improving creative opportunities and I continue to learn about photography, software and image editing. Creating an exceptional image of a moment in time of a unique or beautiful subject creates a special feeling and I look forward to creating many more images to achieve that satisfaction.
