This gallery contains images of Elliston, Bonavista and a few other locations in the area. Elliston is known as the "Root Cellar Capitol of the World" with over 130 root cellars (many still in use for storing root vegetables), and also known for it's puffin viewing site. It's an incorporated fishing settlement and is part of the Discovery UNESCO Global Geopark due to it's geographical significance. This gallery contains some images of puffins but the main gallery to view puffin images is the Seabirds gallery within the Nature menu. Bonavista is known for being a major fishing village, a popular tourist destination, whale watching, iceberg viewing and for it's rugged shoreline. Bonavista has also been considered to be the location that John Cabot first landed in North America.
