GWPHOTOS
New Brunswick 1
The first portion of this gallery contains images of Hopewell Rocks, the most popular tourist attraction in New Brunswick located in the Bay of Fundy area. The Bay of Fundy experiences the world's highest tides with water levels rising up to 16 m (52 ft) twice a day. At low tide visitors can explore and walk around the ocean floor and view the massive sea stacks. This gallery also contains images of covered bridges historically known historically as "kissing bridges", because their enclosed wooden structures provided horse-and-carriage travelers with some private time out of sight from the main street. New Brunswick is home to just over 50 covered bridges, down from approximately 300-400 in the mid 20th century. Three provinces in Canada have historic kissing bridges remaining. Quebec (80+), New Brunswick (50+) and Ontario (1). This gallery also includes images of the Confederation Bridge as viewed from the New Brunswick end. More images to be added soon.
